The basics of dance -classes are for children of ages 7 to 9:

The classes include the basics of classical ballet and contemporary dance, creative exercises, and elements from the folk dances of various countries. The students also learn body maintenance and dance knowledge. The imagination of the children is utilised during the dance classes, and they learn to perceive their own body, the space around them, and the music. The basics of dance classes strengthen the skills to act in a group, in addition to which the children learn to act with a partner as well as independently.

In addition to the correct body alignment, body control, and flexibility, the classes boost the children’s self-confidence and positive self-image. The basics of dance -classes prepare and provide a basis for classical ballet and the various forms of contemporary dance.

7 and 8-year-olds have one 60-minute dance class once a week, and 9-year-olds have two 60-minute classes a week.
